Name of character: Jounouchi Katsuya
Canon/Fandom character originates from: Yu-gi-Oh
Character outline: Jou fairly easy going- if mistrustful of authority figures- and will get along with pretty much anyone. He's not the brightest crayon in the box, but is loyal, friendly and giving. However, he does have a nasty temper and can more than hold his own in a fight, so long as it's physical. He loves to talk and, while he's not the most computer savvy of teens, he'll enjoy the comm as a forum both for chatting and advice purposes. He's a roll with the punches, trust in luck, go with your instinct kinda guy who, despite his past, still has an innocence about him that keeps him looking for that illusive silver lining.
Character history: Jou is a 17 year old high school student with a fairly shitty past- and present, for that matter. his mom took his sister Shizuka, and left him with his father when he was about 8 (canon). A couple of years after that, they left his home of New York and moved to Japan due to a job transfer (me). Once there, his father succumbed to alcoholism and started to abuse Jou, blaming him for the loss of his wife, job... everything negative in his life (me). Subsequently, Jou sought refuge on the streets and became part of a gang (canon). At his current age, he's been out of the gang scene for going on two years now, and is struggling to maintain the gpa needed to stay at Domino high while keeping various odd jobs and dealing with his father's continued abuse.
